Ramayana: A Reflection on Society
Summary
Intro
Ramayana is an ancient Indian poem in Hindu literature. It follows the adventure of Prince Rama as he rescues his wife Sita from the Demon King Ravana and espouses lessons in morality and faith for Hindus.
This blog will talk about the Indian Poem Ramayana and how it affected the Indian community. I will also put my opinions to certain incidents in the story / poem.
Body
As with the Mahabharata, the Ramayana's influence spread as Hinduism expanded throughout the Indian subcontinent in the centuries after it was written. Rama's victory over evil is celebrated during the holiday of Vijayadasami or Dussehra, which takes place in September or October, depending on when it falls during the Hindu lunisolar month of Ashvin. Ashvin or Ashwin also known as Aswayuja, is the seventh month of the lunisolar Hindu calendar, the Bikram Sambat which is the official solar calendar of Nepal and the parts of India.
The fold drama Ramilia, which recounts the story of Rama and Sita is frequently performed during the festival, and effigies of Ravana are burned to symbolize the destruction of evil. The Ramayana has also been a frequent subject of movies and TV miniseries in India, for example. The Ramayana (1986) TV series in Hindi, Ramayana (2008) TV series in Hindi, and Ramayana (2012) TV Series in Hindi. As well as an inspiration to artists from ancient to contemporary times.
This is the writer of Ramayana. |
The Hindu art, religion and cultural history have been primarily affected by two major literary works of ancient India: The Ramayana and the Mahabharata. The Ramayana has traveled through centuries and civilizations in the Indian origin and culture. Its influence has been on every living being not only in India, but also almost the whole of South-East Asia. The Ramayana has fervently carved out the building blocks of Hindu religion and its massively diverse culture. The Great Indian values and heritage owes its existence to Valmiki’s epic story. Srimad Valmiki Ramayana is composed of verses called Sloka, in Sanskrit language, which is an ancient language from India and a complex meter called Anustup. These verses are grouped into individual chapters called Sargas, wherein a specific event or intent is told.
Even in today's generations, the basic human ethics and values can be traced out back to the Ramayana. Ramayana can answer all our questions and problems of our present life. The solutions to our problems lie in following the ideologies presented in the epic. Like, if your problem is like, is your girlfriend still faithful to you if you're on a Long Distance Relationship, depends on the girl though, but still, look at Sita, for 10 months, she was gone. And after that, when she came back, she was still faithful to Rama.
So in my opinion, you shouldn't be traumatized over everything. You have to chill and just trust to your partner. But also, you have to work and help your partner to live and stuff. You gotta follow and trust. It's all about trusting each other.
Conclusion
I have come to realize that this story have affected alot in the past and the present. This might be an epic, an old story, but the problems here are still affecting the present. It may have the different beliefs, religion but the thing we have in common is, The problems we need to fix. We have different cultures and such, but the problems here are the same. The world has this kind of problems.
